The village is situated in the south-eastern tip of the region Pilsen-North, 8 km south-east from Pilsen. It borders with the region of Rokycany and it is connected with the river Klabava. In the direction from Prague it is possible to get to Dýšina from the motorway D5 through the village Kyšice in the direction to Chrást.

Currently the village has 1400 inhabitants. First settlement goes back to the Early Stone Age. Finding of remains from the 8th century is documented as one of the oldest Slavic settlements in the Pilsen region. First documents about Dýšina are dated back to the year 1242.

The village has a large historical remenents, its dominant is the church of The Holy Trinity from the year 1328. Another settlement is an early baroque pastorate from the year 1717, built by Jakub Auguston jr. The village square is lined with still well-preserved farmyards with listed gates from the 19th century in a popular architecture style. A famous painter of Czech history Václav Brožík is originally from one of these farms. Also two other settlements Horomyslice and Nová Huť belong to the same region.

Nová Huť – originally was an iron-mill settlement with foundry from the 17th century – it is situated in the valley of the river Klabava with a background of beautiful forest edge Kokotsko. In the first half of the 20th century Nová Huť was renowned as a vacation spot mainly for rich Pilseners. Even today it still has magnificent spirit and atmosphere. In the meadows in the forest there is an area for swimming. It is possible to get to Nová Huť by public bus transportation (MHD) from Doubravka in Pilsen.

Dýšina is a part of a micro-region Horní Berounka, which is the river-basin area of the river Klabava. One of the intentions of this micro-region was to build a cycling route connecting Pilsen with the region of Rokycany. Currently it is already possible to use this cycling route in some areas. There are tennis courts in Nová Huť. In other parts of the village, small and very old settlement Horomyslice, there is a golf park which is a project of Golf Park Plzeň. Dýšina, originally an agricultural village, has become during the years one of the most industrial villages in the Pilsen region. Thanks to the influence of the iron industry which has been prominent since the 17th and 18th century and the establishment of the iron industry in the 1950s foundries were built for the increased mining of iron ore near Ejpovice. The iron works were closed in 1967. In this area were established several companies, e.g. Mrazírny Dýšina, Armabeton – today ZIPP Praha, Strojírna Rokycany and one of the most modern companies for making beverage cans - CONTINENTAL CAN EUROPE.

Dýšina is becoming a modern village with historical background. It offers not only sightseeing, but also sports and tourist attractions in beautiful nature settings including accommodations for tourists.
